Kansas City, Mo. – The Spurgeon Knights (3-6-0) faced a double-header against Great Lakes Christian College (0-12-0) Friday night. The Knights are coming off their first ever win and continued their success Friday with back-to-back wins. The Knights only dropped one set over the course of the two matches and are currently on a 3-win streak.
 
How it Happened

• GLCC came on strong during the first match, where they took the first set 25-23. They were led in points by Stella Dunham with 14 and Jillian Wilson had 18 digs.

 

• After dropping the first set, the Knights get back firing. They took the next two sets convincedly and in the fourth set it was a battle by both teams to the end. The Knights managed to get the win 29-27 to win the entire match 3-1. Mollie Singleton led the team with 25 points, 23 of which were kills. Samantha Dobbs and Katie Werner tied with 19 digs.

 

• The Knights continued their success and into the second match where they defeated GLCC in three sets. Freshman Lizzie Deaton led this match with 17 points, 15 of which were kills.

The Knights Volleyball team will play Barclay College on Tuesday, Sept. 28 at 5 p.m.
