Kansas City, MO – The Spurgeon Knights men's basketball team defeated number two-ranked Manhattan Christian College with a 96-93 win.
The Knights were able to hold the lead for most of the first half, but Manhattan Christian College was able to tie it up in the final seconds of the half, leaving the score 42-42. During the second half, the lead changed hands a couple of times, but the Knights held the lead for most of the half and ended the game in the lead 96-93. The Knights were led by
Drew Middleton, who scored 45 points. He went 10 for 15 from behind the arc, including several big baskets late in the second half.
Jude Warren came up big with 24 points for the Knights despite early foul trouble. Coach Livezey and the Knights are now 11-6 on the season.
The Knights will play again on January 31st against Ozark Christian College at 6:00pm.
