Two Minute Rally Leaves Fans Speechless
Summary:
On Sept. 30th, Ozark Christian College came to face the Knights' on their home court. The gym was loud and busy with nearly a hundred fans present between the two teams. Several of the Knights' were recently sick or injured, and as the match wore on, the strain began to show. Still, they pressed on, winning one of the four sets despite the struggle to remain motivated.
How it Happened:

At the beginning of the match, the Knights looked good, coming out with two kills almost at once. Ozark quickly took the upper hand, but the Knights kept fighting and steadily regained ground.

At the sixteenth point, the Knights and Ozark were tied, each inching forward little by little. Unfortunately, Ozark scraped the win, but the set ended close, 25-23.

The second set began with Ozark pressing their advantage, their morale boosted by their score. The Knights struggled to regain the ball but started to catch up. It wasn't enough to win the set.

The third set was easily the most exciting. The score stayed close the whole time, the Knights fierce with a new burst of determination.

With the Knights at 16 and Ozark at 15 points, a tense and thrilling rally took place between the teams. For two minutes, the ball stayed in the air, narrowly passing over the net with players on both sides making close digs and blocks. As the crowd rose, cheering for their Knights, Josephine Dull came through with a kill and won the point.

The rally point inspired the Knights even more, and the Spurgeon fans went wild with excitement, cheering the Knights to victory of the third set.

Though the excitement carried through the opening of the fourth set, the Knights' momentum faltered, and they ultimately lost the match.

Though Spurgeon lost the match, they won the epic rally that put defense and offensive skills on display, highlighting every player on the court. The Spurgeon fans were beyond thrilled with that success.

The Knights had far more digs than in most of their matches, displaying their capacity for defense once again. Lizzie Deaton made 21 digs, Janie Wilson had 16, and Samantha Dobbs made 15.

Lizzie Deaton and Timry Goodman once again shone in their roles, but the match highlighted how the team worked together, especially with many of them having just recovered or still recovering from various illnesses or injuries.
