Kansas City, MO - On Saturday, the Spurgeon Knights extended their win streak to seven games as they defeated Faith Baptist Bible College in an exhilarating 107-78 win at home. Across this stretch, the Knights have secured four NCCAA Southwest conference wins and will have the opportunity to collect two more as they face off against Manhattan Christian College and Kansas Christian College to finish the regular season and fight for the #1 seed in the division.

While the Knights lead the nation in scoring, this win streak has been characterized by strong team defensive play. Against Faith Baptist, the Knights successfully created 17 defensive turnovers and 9 blocks. Here is what Spurgeon Knights head coach Billy Livezey had to say about his team's performance: "We got off to a really slow start tonight and were able to recover it later in the game with some great defensive stops, rebounds, and unselfish play. I thought we got out toughed today. I thought they were the tougher team and they really beat us up and outplayed us in every way in the beginning of the game. Toughness plays are even more important this time of year. One area I thought we grew up in today was our strong takes at the rim and also how we protected our own rim by walling up and not fouling or putting ourselves in bad positions that lead to fouls.
