Men's Soccer Overcomes the Odds and Defeats Emmaus Bible
Summary
The Knights matched up against Emmaus Bible College on Sept. 6th at a neutral site in Iowa. There was a relatively small crowd of attendees, but the Knights were supported from home, with many students watching the livestream back in KC. The first half, the Knights struggled to get things going. Emmaus was up 2-0 going into halftime. At the beginning of the second half, they went on the offensive. About the middle of the second half, the switch happened. The Knights scored three times in the last half hour of the game, seizing a close and thrilling victory. The game winning goal came from Jackson Edwards off a beautiful pass from Elijah Tling with only a few minutes left in regulation.
How It Happened:

From the start, Emmaus pressed forward against the Knights, with a shot on goal in the first two minutes. Ronnie Godwin, goalie for the Knights, saved the attempt easily, but the play set the stage for the rest of the game.

Fouls passed back and forth on the teams as their contest grew more heated. Adwell Malunga had a beautiful header on Emmaus's goal, but the goalie stopped him. Right after, Emmaus scored their first goal.

The Knights recovered the ball and made two more attempts on goal before Emmaus scored again. At this point, several substitutions were made to reinforce the Knights' defense.

The game continued in the same vein until halftime, with shots on goal from both sides but neither gaining more ground.

The Knights came onto the field with fresh aggression, making a series of three shots on goal within the first four minutes of the second half.

At 64:04, Adwell Malunga scored for the Knights with an assist from Grant Smith. The goal provided even more positive energy and strength for the Knights.

At 79:36, Caleb Hawkins scored, bringing the points to a tie. Emmaus tried hard to break the tie in their favor, but the Knights kept their defense tight.

Less than ten minutes after Hawkins, Jackson Edwards secured the winning goal for the Knights, with assists from Derek Jennings and Luke Ottoman. The game ended soon after, victory tight in the Knights' hands.

Adwell Malunga had five shots on goal, including a beautiful header and a successful goal. He is a newcomer to the school and to the Knights.

Caleb Hawkins is another newcomer who has been highlighted for his endurance and capability down to the last minute. He had two shots on goal, with one goal.
