January 16th- The Knights Traveled to Overland Park, Kansas to face the Falcons of Kansas Christian College. Spurgeon started the game off hot against the #4 ranked team in the country, jumping out to a 33-14 lead 8 minutes into the game. The Knights grew the lead to 22, going into the break leading 59-37 at halftime. Spurgeon College continued the dominating performance through the second half. Growing the lead to 28 with 13 minutes to go in the game.  Ultimately taking the win with a score of 103-83. The Knights were led in scoring by freshman center Jack Chamberlin scoring 26 points, while captain guard Drew Middleton and freshman point guard Michael Berry added 19 points each to solidify the win against the regional foe. This win brings the Knights to 10-3 on the season and gives them sole possession of first place in the region with a record of 3-1. This was the first time in program history that Spurgeon has beaten the defending national champions in KCC. After the game, Head Coach Billy Livezey had this to say about his Knights, "I am very proud of the way this team responded tonight. This was Spurgeon basketball through and through for 40 minutes. First time all season where I believe we played for 40 minutes. It was tough, gritty, relentless, play the right way basketball. Culture eats strategy for breakfast and our Faithful culture tonight showed with how we competed. KCC is a very good team and to get a region win on the road against a team like them is very important at this point in the season." The Knights will try to build on this win as they head into regional play in the 2^nd semester.
