November 18, 2023 – Spurgeon College took on Free Lutheran Bible College. The Knights started off the game blazing hot, scoring 27 points before FLBC knocked down a 3-point shot to make the game 27-3. The Knights continued the hot start going into halftime with an 80-12 lead. Second half was a similar story with the knights pulling off a win by the score 124-18. Drew Middleton led all scorers with 18 points while Michael Berry added 16.
November 30, 2023 – The Spurgeon Knights faced the Warriors of Union College. The game started off closely contested with the Warriors taking a 23-20 lead with 8:25 in the first half before the Knights ended the half on a 24-8 run to take a 44-31 lead at the break. The Knights held the lead, and it grew to as much as 21 in the 2nd half. Jude Warren Led the Knights in scoring with 20 points, with Drew Middleton and Tyler Smith both adding 16. The Knights won the game 92-75, keeping their perfect season alive with a record of 7 and 0.
December 2, 2023 – Spurgeon College traveled to Manhattan, KS to face off against regional opponent the Thunder of Manhattan Christian College. The Knights came out firing on all cylinders, jumping out to an early 21-5 lead, but the Thunder answered, bringing the game to 26-23 with 6:20 in the 1st half. The Knights held a narrow 33-31 lead going to halftime. The second half was all Spurgeon College, coming out of the break with a 19-2 run in the first 5 minutes to bring the game to a score of 52-33. The Knights continued their dominating second half, led by Jude Warren and Drew Middleton both pouring on 29 points, finishing the game with a 91-65 win to bring their season record to 8-0 and move to 2-0 in the Central Region.
December 12, 2023 – The Knights took on a regional opponent, the Calvary University Warriors in Belton, MO. The knights held a lead throughout the first half, leading 49-38 at the break. Spurgeon brought their lead to as much as 19 in the 2nd half before Calvary came back late in the game and pulled off a 89-85 win, handing Spurgeon College their first loss of the year. Spurgeon moves to 8-1 on the season and 2-1 in the Central Region.
December 14, 2023 - Spurgeon College Traveled to Joplin, MO to face the Ozark Christian College Ambassadors. Spurgeon Struggled early in the game, falling 19-6 at the 14-minute mark in the 1st half. The knights narrowed the gap to 5 points on multiple occasions before going into halftime down 49-40. The second half was much of the same story. The knights brought the game back to a 5 point contest yet again but ultimately fell short losing the game 88-102. That brings the Knights Record to 8-2 on the season.
December 16, 2023 – The Knights faced off against the Eagles of Faith Baptist Bible College in Ankeny, IA for their final game of the Fall Semester. The Knights came out of the gates fast cruising to a 13-0 lead to start the game, and they did not slow down. At the first half's midway point, the Knights led 27-10, and the lead continued to grow into the break 55-35. The Knights kept the momentum going as they extended the lead further throughout the 2nd half, rolling to a 105-68 win over the Eagles. Jude Warren led all scorers with 30 points and Evan Deleon added 24 points to help the Knights to a much need win to finish the Fall Semester.
Coach Livezey of the Knights had this to say about their hot start to the season, "We accomplished a lot early on the year that we wanted to. No doubt about that. Our goal though was never to be ranked or be the #2 team in the country. We are eager to come back after break and work towards playing our best brand of basketball as a team yet this season. A lot to get better at still and I am excited for that process and working towards our goals as a team for the remainder of the year."
The Knights finish out the fall semester with a 9-2 record overall and a 2-1 regional record. Heading into Christmas break, the #2 team in the nation Spurgeon College, will look to come back in the second semester where they left off as they continue to pursue a Central Regional playoff game in February.
