On a rainy, warm September afternoon, Spurgeon College's women's soccer team prepared to face off against Central Christian College. Despite interference from the weather and the disappointing end result, the match showcased the Knights' resilience and unwavering team spirit.

How it Happened:
The game started with intensity as both teams exhibited their determination right from the start. Spurgeon's defense was tested early in the game with Central Christian making two attempts on goal within the first two minutes. Each time, goalie
Hannah Richardson was up to the task, making vital saves. Throughout the first half, Spurgeon's defense remained strong. Richardson made a total of 13 saves in the first period alone, demonstrating her skills and fortitude.

However, despite the best efforts of Spurgeon's defense, Central Christian broke through immediately in the second half. Soon, they led with four goals. Spurgeon's offense, led by
Aleah McBee and
Haeley Gallegos, made valiant attempts at the goal but were unable to penetrate Central Christian's defense. The match ended with Central Christian leading by four goals. However, Spurgeon's spirit and determination left a lasting impact on the spectators.
