Coach Dean is the interim head men’s soccer coach at Spurgeon College. He played NCAA Division II soccer at the University of Alabama in Huntsville. After significant injuries he decided to take some time off from soccer and transferred to Spurgeon College to participate in the Fusion program in 2019/20. Later Dean would come out of retirement and play for Spurgeon College during the inaugural year of the program in the 2021 season scoring 3 goals and assisting 4 times in 5 games. Coach Dean was hired as the assistant men's soccer coach in 2022 and became the interim head men's soccer coach ahead of the 2025 season.

Coach Dean is married to Lauren, and they have one daughter, Addalyn, and one son, Grayson. The Dean family are members at Northside Fellowship in Kansas City.
