Coach Risher is the director of athletics and head men’s soccer coach at Spurgeon College. He is the founding coach of men’s soccer and will be entering his fifth season coaching the Knights. Throughout the years he has coached and mentored his players to not only be great athletes but also training them up to be Christ honoring individuals. Under his leadership he has witnessed his team break and set new records. From individual statistics to most wins in a season. Each year striving to climb higher and higher on the national ranking. In the 2024 season the Knights were nationally ranked as the #5 team, making their first ever appearance at Nationals in Florida.
He played Division I soccer at Marshall University and then transferred to Coastal Carolina University, where he graduated. Risher helped Coastal Carolina win two conference championships and two NCAA Sweet Sixteen appearances. Coastal Carolina led the nation in scoring in both years that he played, and Coach Risher contributed five goals in his two years there. In 2019, he graduated from Midwestern Baptist Theological Seminary with his Master of Divinity and is currently in the doctoral program. Coach Risher is passionate about discipleship and looks forward to the opportunity to impact the Kingdom through soccer.
Coach Risher is married to Bethany, and they have one daughter, Noelle.
