Kansas City, MO – The Spurgeon Knights volleyball team took on the Kansas Christian Falcons for their first home game of the season on August 30th.
The first set was very close at the beginning, but then the Knights quickly took the lead and then dominated the rest of the set which they then won.
Much like the first set, both teams were very close at the beginning and then the Falcons started pulling away. When the Knights were down five points, Coach Evie called a time-out. When the Knights got back on the court, they went on a six-point streak putting them in the lead. The score remained very close till the end of the set when the Knights won 26-24.
The third set began with the Falcons taking a strong lead; however, they were unable to hold on to their lead as the Knights began scoring back. After a rough start to the set, the Knights were able to come back and win the third and final set, winning the match.
The Knights will play again on September 2nd against Ozark Christian College.
