Men's Soccer Defeats Calvary 14-0
Summary:
On Sept. 19th, the Knights faced off with a local rival. It was an away game, but Spurgeon fans supported by coming or watching the livestream. Calvary and Spurgeon as products of their close proximity to each other have long been friendly competitors from institutional to athletic levels. The men's soccer team has held the winning streak against Calvary for their last three games, so the match was highly anticipated as a Spurgeon victory. No one could have expected such a landslide triumph.
How it Happened:

Calvary was riled up and took off with the ball, making a shot on the Knights' goal, which went wide. The Knights came back with the pressure, firing shot after shot on Calvary's goal.

At 23:08 and again at 26:40, Jackson Edwards scored the fourth and fifth goals, assisted by Caleb Hawkins and David Thang, respectively. Calvary's frustration continued rising, and two of their players received yellow cards.

Spurgeon kept pressing forward. At 39:43, Ethan Amershek scored the sixth goal. In the last six minutes of the first half, Spurgeon continued pummeling Calvary's goal, a promise that there was plenty more to come.

Three minutes into resumed play, Patrick Deronde scored, assist by David Thang. The Knights remained relentless, and the game's tension continued swelling as a player for the Knights received the third yellow card of the game.

At 55:16, Adwell Malunga, assisted by Patrick Deronde, made the eighth goal. In the same minute, Caleb Hawkins scored the ninth goal, and Adwell Malunga scored again.

The shots on goal by the Knights continued climbing as the Calvary goalie struggled to keep up under the intensity. At 61:02, Derek Jennings scored the eleventh goal. Five minutes later, he assisted Jackson Edwards in his goal.

There had been no stopping or slowing the Knights the whole game, and that did not change in the last twenty minutes. At 74:12, Caleb Hawkins scored, assist by Elijah Tling. Then, at 78:48, Max Arbuckle scored, also assisted by Elijah Tling. It was a smooth and complete triumph for the Knights!
