On September 10
th, the Mathena Student Center was full of fans, friends, and family who had come out to support Spurgeon College in their latest volleyball match against Manhattan Christian. Despite the energy from their supporters, Spurgeon College fell short of a win in the intense face-off, losing in straight sets to their opponents.

How it Happened:
- The match began with Manhattan Christian serving, but Spurgeon College immediately took control with Lizzie Deaton securing the first point for the team. Spurgeon continued to build momentum, scoring the next three points consecutively, courtesy of a successful block and two service aces by Timry Goodman, leading to an early Spurgeon lead.
- However, Manhattan Christian quickly caught up, and the first set ended with Manhattan Christian leading 25-15 after a grueling display of skill and determination from both teams.
- The second set was equally tense, with Manhattan Christian maintaining their lead. Spurgeon College fought back valiantly, but they were unable to overcome their opponents' relentless attack and strong defense. The set culminated with Manhattan Christian ahead again, with a score of 25-18.
- Spurgeon College entered the final set with renewed energy. They fought hard, capitalizing on every opportunity, but Manhattan Christian once again managed to secure the set, winning 25-16 and the match 3-0.
