Janie Wilson secured the first point of a serve assisted by
Timry Goodman, setting the course for the first set. The Knights swiftly moved ahead. Their advancement left KCC discouraged, allowing the Knights to capitalize on their advantage with more kills and service aces.

The second set was a testament to Spurgeon's cohesion and strategic prowess. Wilson and
Lizzie Deaton produced a series of kills while Goodman served to open the game. Despite a brief resurgence from KCC, Spurgeon maintained their lead, finishing the set with a score of 25-18.

But the third set surpassed the previous two, shocking the onlookers. Spurgeon came out strong again, advancing to a seven-point difference in a short amount of time, but KCC began creeping back up. At the 21st point, KCC inched ahead of the Knights, but Spurgeon quickly retaliated. The back and forth continued well into overtime, with each point fiercely contested. However, Spurgeon remained unflustered under pressure. A final block by
Lizzie Deaton led Spurgeon to a set win of 33-31 and secured the match victory.

Highlights:
- Lizzie Deaton's performance was pivotal to Spurgeon's success. Her kills, 16 in total, put Spurgeon on the front foot. She also had three blocks and a couple of service aces. Janie Wilson followed close behind with 10 kills and 2 blocks.
- Newcomers Madison Moyer and Lydia Swartz also showed their skills. Moher had 7 kills, and Swartz took 3 service aces.
- Timry Goodman deserves a special mention for her exceptional assists (37), setting up numerous scoring opportunities. She also made the most service aces (4).
- The team as a whole showed intentionality in maintaining a balanced defense and offense. They repelled KCC's attacks and kept control of the game.
