Box Score Kansas City, MO – The Knight's Women's Volleyball team took on the nation's 5th best team, the Calvary Warriors, on Tuesday, September 13th.
The Knights came into this game on a two-game win streak. The first set started close, but the Warriors took the lead quickly and ended up winning the set. However, the Knights came back ready to win in the second set. The score was very close throughout the set until the end, when the Knights took the lead and won the set. The third set was also very close, but the Warriors were able to sneak ahead at the last second and win the set, putting the Knights down 2-1.
With only one set away from losing the match, the Knights knew what they had to do and did it. The Knights quickly showed that they had control in the fourth set, quickly taking the lead, which they kept until the end of the fourth set, which they won, sending the game into a tie-breaking set.
The Knights quickly took the lead in this final set, but the Warriors started closing in. The score was 14-13 with the Knights in the lead, and it was the Warrior's serve. The Warriors served the ball up over the net, but the Knights noticed the ball was high and let the ball go out, winning the fifth and final set.
This was a significant victory for the Knights as Calvary is currently ranked fifth in NCCAA DII Women's Volleyball. This win also increases the Knights' win streak to three games.
The Knights will play against Faith Baptist Bible College on September 15th.
