Knight's Volleyball Beats Emmaus in Rematch
Summary:
On Sept. 16th, the Knights faced Emmaus Bible at an away location in Kansas City. The first set did not look good for the Knights, and Emmaus pressed them hard. In the second set, the Knights and Emmaus stayed close, getting point for point until reaching the end of the set. The Knights pressed forward and secured the set. The third played out very similar to the first, Emmaus bringing the score back in their favor. In the fourth set, the Knights tied it up. It seemed the game could go in either direction, but the Knights resolutely took to the court. After a tense back and forth, the Knights won the set and the game.

Lizzie Deaton maintained her streak of kills, making 23 in the game. Deaton has always been an excellent member of the team, but this year has shown her skills like never before. For reference, she has already exceeded the cumulative kills from the 2021 and 2022 seasons, and the season for 2023 is not over yet.

Timry Goodman made 38 assists, a personal stat second only to the 40 assists she made in the last Knights v. Emmaus game.

The game on the 16th was followed by a match at Manhattan Christian on Sept. 19th. The following weekend, they had two away games and one home game (on Sept. 30th). The Knights won one away game on Sept. 28th against Barclay College.
