Spurgeon College men's soccer delivered a dominant first-half performance on Friday afternoon to earn a 3–0 victory over Kansas Christian College at Scheels Complex in Overland Park. With the result, the Knights improve to 6-4-1 on the season, remaining unbeaten in regional play.
Knights Strike Early and Often
Spurgeon wasted no time asserting control. In just the seventh minute, midfielder Eduard Mangalagiu converted from the penalty spot to give the Knights an early 1–0 lead. The pressure continued to mount, and Sage Ballard doubled the advantage in the 20th minute with a composed finish inside the box.
The Knights weren't done yet. Jack Downey added a third goal in the 35th minute, burying a shot to make it 3–0 before halftime.
Second Half Control
Spurgeon remained organized defensively, denying the Falcons any comeback hopes. Goalkeeper Derrick Rodriguez turned away two shots on goal, recording another clean sheet this season as the Knights saw out the match comfortably.
