Men's Soccer

History for the Knights in the Central Region Tournament

Spurgeon men's soccer captured the first postseason win in program history with a 4 to 3 golden goal victory over Barclay College in Moberly. The Knights came out flying and built a 3 to 0 lead in the first half with goals from Sage Ballard, David Beltran, and Daniel Martinez. Barclay responded with determination in the second half and battled back to level the match at 3 to 3 by the end of regulation.

Six minutes into golden goal overtime, Caleb Hawkings stepped up and buried a free kick to secure the historic win and move Spurgeon forward in the NCCAA DII Central Region Tournament.

This result also reflects the steady leadership and culture being built by Head Coach Jared Dean. His belief in discipline, accountability, and confidence in each player has shaped the identity of this team. The Knights continue to grow under his direction, competing with composure and purpose on the biggest stage in program history.
