Knights surge past Calvary Bible in dominant 116 to 84 home victory

Spurgeon College delivered another statement performance on Tuesday night, rolling to a convincing 116 to 84 win over Calvary Bible at the Mathena Student Center. The Knights controlled the game from start to finish, using pace, depth, and defensive pressure to overwhelm the visitors and continue building momentum during an impressive stretch of the season.

Spurgeon set the tone early, jumping out to a double digit lead midway through the first half and never looking back. Strong ball movement, relentless transition offense, and consistent execution on both ends fueled a 55 to 39 halftime advantage. The Knights came out of the locker room with the same intensity, pouring in 61 second half points to put the game out of reach.

The Knights dictated tempo from the opening tip, pushing the ball in transition and turning defensive stops into quick offense. Spurgeon finished with 29 fast break points and 35 points off turnovers, repeatedly capitalizing on pressure defense and active hands.

Inside, Spurgeon controlled the paint on both ends, scoring 54 points near the basket while cleaning the glass and protecting the rim. The depth of the Knights was on full display, as contributions came from throughout the lineup and energy never dipped, even as rotations expanded in the second half.
