Knights Win Five Straight

Raven Ortiz Finished with a Triple-Double

Halftime Summary

The first half was a battle of runs, with both teams trading momentum early before the home team began to pull away. After a back-and-forth opening five minutes, key defensive plays and a string of fast-break buckets gave the Faith Baptist Bible squad a slim edge.

Midway through the half, Spurgeon ratcheted up the pressure on both ends. They capitalized on turnovers and hit timely three-pointers, extending their lead behind strong efforts from Tyler Hicks and Jack Chamberlin in the paint. The Eagles fought to keep pace, with Mason Gorsh knocking down shots from deep and Asa LaFleur adding points at the free-throw line.

As the half wore on, the Knights depth became a factor, with contributions from nearly every player in the rotation. Quensy Ferguson and Sam Kirkwood helped steady the Faith Baptist, but the relentless attack from Spurgeon—highlighted by unselfish ball movement and second-chance points—proved too much. By halftime, the Knights had built a comfortable lead, finishing the half up 63-44 after a flurry of late baskets by Joseph Allen and a strong defensive stand to close out the period.

FINAL MINUTES
As the game wound down, both teams turned to their benches, giving younger players a chance to make an impact. The scoring continued at a rapid pace, with Josh Rogosich & Javonte Woolery contributing late buckets for the Spurgeon Knights, while Eli Fincham & Connor Parrish fought to keep the deficit manageable. Despite a flurry of substitutions and quick possessions, the tempo never slowed, and the crowd remained engaged until the final whistle. Every possession was played with intensity—players dove for loose balls, crashed the boards, and hustled back on defense, embodying the spirit of competition until the very end.
In the closing seconds, both teams traded missed threes and contested rebounds, with neither side backing down. As the clock ran out, the scoreboard reflected the dominance and depth of the Knights, sealing an emphatic victory.
