KANSAS CITY, Mo.

Spurgeon College is glad to announce the hiring of Amaris Sigler as an assistant coach for the women's soccer program. Sigler joins the Knights with a strong playing background, hands-on coaching experience, and a heart for pouring into young women both on and off the field.

Sigler comes to Spurgeon after a standout collegiate career at Avila University, where she played from 2020 to 2024. During her time there, she earned KCAC Honorable Mention honors in 2020, 2022, and 2023, and served as a team captain in both 2022 and 2023. Her leadership on the field was matched by the respect she earned from teammates and coaches alike.

Coaching has been part of Sigler's story for several years now. Since 2022, she has served as an assistant coach at Maranatha Christian Academy, and this coming spring she will step into the role of head coach there. That experience has given her a real feel for developing players, building culture, and leading a program with intention.

Off the field, Sigler earned her Bachelor of Social Work from Avila University in Kansas City, Missouri, followed by a Master of Social Work with an emphasis in Forensic Social Work from the University of Saint Mary in Leavenworth, Kansas. A Kansas City area native, she attended Olathe North High School, where she played soccer all four years.

"I am thrilled to have Amaris joining me this season," said Coach Elder. "I had the honor of coaching her when I was at Avila, and she is a great person to have investing in our young women athletically and, more importantly, spiritually."

The Knights are excited to welcome Sigler to the sideline and look forward to the impact she will make on the program in the seasons ahead.
