Spurgeon College earned a 2-2 road draw against Faith Baptist Bible Athletics on Thursday, September 17, moving to 0-3-2 on the season. Adah Barmann contributed to both Knights goals, scoring once and assisting on another.
The Knights answered an early deficit and took the lead after halftime before Faith pulled level in the closing 10 minutes. Spurgeon made its opportunities count, scoring twice on four shots while recording 12 team saves.
THE RUNDOWN
Faith opened the scoring at 12:08 when Meleah Speichinger finished with an assist from Emma Boldt. Spurgeon responded at 22:06, with Adele Johnson scoring off Barmann's assist to tie the match. Johnson accounted for all three Knights shots in the opening half, and the teams entered the break tied 1-1.
Barmann put Spurgeon ahead at 55:42, converting the Knights' only shot of the second half. Hannah Richardson helped protect that advantage, including a penalty-kick save against Eliana Fritz at 67:29.
Kaelyn Doan equalized for Faith at 80:11. The Knights then weathered the remaining pressure to secure their second consecutive road draw.
