Knights pull away from Southwestern Adventist for 106–88 home win

Spurgeon College continued its strong season with a convincing 106–88 victory over Southwestern Adventist on Wednesday afternoon, December 11, at the Mathena Student Center. The Knights improved to 10–2 on the year by controlling the game from the opening minutes and never allowing the visitors to seriously threaten the lead.

Spurgeon built a commanding 57–39 advantage by halftime behind efficient shooting and relentless pressure, then matched Southwestern Adventist point for point in the second half to comfortably close out the win.

How it was won

The Knights set the tone early with pace, physicality, and efficiency. Spurgeon shot 60.6 percent from the field for the game and opened the contest by hitting nearly everything inside the arc, finishing the first half at an outstanding 65.9 percent.

Defensively, Spurgeon forced turnovers, protected the paint, and consistently turned stops into points in transition. Even as Southwestern Adventist found some rhythm offensively in the second half, the Knights responded every time, stretching the lead to as many as 21 and maintaining control throughout.

Balanced scoring, ball movement, and interior dominance allowed Spurgeon to keep the game out of reach.
